Description and documentation
The icon cataloged as Shintō depicts a torii. Jinja Honcho describes torii as a boundary between a shrine's sacred space and the outside world. This is a Japanese context; it should not be equated with Buddhism or treated as a universal sign of all Asian religions. The library drawing is a graphic simplification of the structure.
